Stock Alarm on Pontiac

I just recently purchased a 99 Grand Am GT with Ram Air in it. If anybody is familiar with these cars or with other pontiacs that come stock with an alarm maybe you can answer my question. I want an alarm to protect my subs that will be in my trunk. I don't know anything about this alarm...not even exactly sure it is an alarm...maybe just a panic button. I tried bumping into it decently hard and it didn't set it off. My question is....is it an alarm?? If so, good enough to be set off if someone was to break in the glass or into the trunk??? Im really hoping it is good enough because I don't feel like spending $260 for an alarm when I could be spending that money other wise.

It does not have a shock sensor in it. Therefore it will not trigger the alarm when bumped, or a broken window. I believe it is only through the door opening. I highly suggest upgrading to an aftermarket alarm.

Also, do you know what kind of speakers come stock with this car?? I do not have the upgrade. 6x9's in the back??????? No clue whats on the door....and is that all the speakers???

I think all GM cars come with AC Delco stuff factory
