Stinger Distro Question

So i bought one of the stinger SHD870 ground/power distro blocks.

it has 1 input for power and 1 input for ground and a voltmeter and amperage meter on top....

for some reason its reading voltage and not amperage. it reads 14.4-14 for V but when it switches over to amps it says 0...

why?

is it possible I have the power and ground switched? ive got to assume it just wouldnt turn on if they were. there really is no clearcut indicator which one is which.

in my picture red is power, black is ground.

hey man,im still trying to find an answer to your question.

heres the number to one of the technical support guys at AAMP(owners of stinger/periphial and sound quest)he may be able to answer your question if one of us dont answer it first.

yeah, i already emailed them. they are usually pretty quick and im sure ill get a response tomorrow. i just figured id try here in the meantime and see what you guys thought.

sorry,i cant be anymore help.if i was there im sure i could figure something out.its supposed to show the amp draw of your amp but i dont know man.just a shot in the dark but take the unused fuse out of that block and see if that helps.i noticed that you are only using one side of the block.

yeah ill give that a shot. whenever my subs get here ill be using the other side. maybe they both have to be hooked up or something.

did you try moving the + wire to the other output?any instructions included? meaning maybe it can read each of the outputs??

that's weird.
if there were instructions included there wouldnt be a problem... but there arent, and nothing on the packaging that would indicate whats what. before i go switching my +, and - im going to wait till stinger gets back to me. that could be a very dangerous game to be playing....

no, the output section. from the top + to the bottom +

you are sure of the + and - input connections?? it's hard to tell from the pic, it's a little washed out.

his distribution block is built exactly like my soundstream powerplant.the ground block goes through the center and power is split to both sides(notice the fuses).if it wasnt hooked up right,im pretty sure the amp would be fried or a fuse would be blown by now.

yeah its hooked up right. stinger emailed me with the instruction manual, which he claimed should of been in my packaging, but it wasnt.

he avoided answering my question though about the amps reading 0. funny how when you ask 2 questions no matter what technical support it is they always only answer the first question!

im going to hook up the other amp, see if that fixes, if it doesnt then ill email him again. this time that being my only question.
