still smelling

i posted a while ago that my 4 RE8's would start to smell when ever i played 1 song at a decent volume and it still has been going on. I look at the VC wires every day and see nothing like being "burned up". They are DVC 4 wired down to 2 ohms on a Ca600M...which is 420w @ 2 ohms. I kno they can handle more then that. ANY ideas?

hmmm if you amp is underated you might have to worry

hey my subs smell also when i play them at a higher volume. whenever i smell it i just turn them down. subs or amp?

i take it they are broken in right? and its not wireing your smelling? are you playing songs below the 32Hz? or do you have a subsonic filter?

oh yeah and RMS is box Dependent. so if its small sealed box it can take the Max RMS while a nice open ported box will need alot less to get the full potential....

its my subs...i dont kno if i am playing them below 32hz and i dont have a sbusonic filter either

well.

if you play Hz lower than your tuned for then the speaker acts as if its not in a box and the 210 RMs a piece might be enough to cook them.... i would get a subsonic filter and see if that helps.... it will at least allow you to play whatever you want wihtout having to worry about it.

i dont think you can buy a SSF, it will come with your amp... But who knows, there prob is a company that you can buy a SSF from...
