I still have engine noise after trying 3 diff amps, 3 sets of rca's, 2 hu's, regrounded and finally have a run of pos and neg from front batt back. That got rid of most of the engine noise but its still there. Only when the car is running tho. And its only one side of the rcas. What else could it be? Bad hu ground? That's the only thing I can think of....

There may be a speaker wire with a slight "pressure" short some where.

(pressure short.....pinched wire somewhere....)

ground your rca shield (pico fuse prob blown), you'll only get engine noise while the car is running. lots of tutorials on how todo this.

Sounds like the speaker wire is getting grounded some where because it's only happening on one side. If there is a sharp piece of metal somewhere it can cut in to the speaker wire and ground it giving you some nasty noise. Either run a new speaker wire or trace the speaker wire along its whole length to see if it is being grounded somewhere. Had an issue with this just yesterday doing an install.

swap the rca's at the amp (left and right rca's - swap them over)does it still have the noise on the same side? if you plug one side in and leave the other disconnected from the amp do you still get the noise (pretty sure it's a ground loop problem with your rca's)
