we firmly believe that the difference is very big, and our amplifier has a PWM power supply.

SD looks great no doubt. The Stetsom 2009 2k5d vs the 2008 2k5d the 2009 went with a single larger coil but everything else is the same. Each capacitor is 2200mf. Just some info about the design change. I'm looking more into it to get more specifics.

hello folks I am the new rep for Stetsom and would like to comment if its ok. I was the first person to use Stetsom in the USA I choose them over other brands from Brazil because they were a well established company shipping around the globe. At that time I also looked at other brands from Brazil but couldnt find any that had over twenty years in business so i took a chance with Stetsom. That year i took them to db-drag world finals in my daily driver. I made brackets @ 12v. back then that was a feat in itself. Team Budweiser took me out in elimination rounds. I have heard alot of negative feedback from people saying that they arent daily amps well I beg to differ! I drove to finals banging and drove home banging with a big grin and a trophy. I ran those amps for another four years and two more finals's before going to the 14k2d. they are still in my shop and work fine. I test and dont push my amps past the limit, that is why they are still good. When i first started using them i got emails from people saying they were no good and they burned an amp. that is because you cant run the 7kd,7k2d in the street classes on one battery. You dont want to go under 10v with a stetsom amp and these guys were.... that is why they burned the amps, that and inexperience to understand how to tune these amps out of clip. When you consider that these amps are totally hand made even the boards are made inhouse by stetsom. Stetsom has also over 300 employees and multiple lines of amps not just the digital line but ab class amps too. We pretty much have an amp for any set-up. Due to the small footprint of the digital line the sales took off in america. Stetsom amps are in the LOUDEST CAR ON THE PLANET and as far as i know Alan Dante has never used any other amp since he stopped using the DD amps. Craig Butler tested the SD amps and they were strong but he hasnt beaten the score he did with stetsom with the Sd amps, and whether he uses them at finals......we will have to wait and see. I try to speak to every person that buys a big amp to match the amp with the batteries that the people have. I have lost sales because i didnt want to sell something that they couldnt support with batteries. if you have any questions about Stetsom I will do my best to answer all, if i dont have an answer I can get one from the owners and designers of Stetsom Amplifiers. Dante would have been loud with Boss amps.

1. It's an extreme vehicle.

2. He's probably one of the top extreme builders in the world.

The reason I dont get a SD amp is because of the comments made on this forum. Dante all over again.

"Hey check out my new amp it does 10k"

SD Guy "Well OUR amp does 11k and is smaller, your amp sucks!"

They are in direct competition you know... not just here, but in Brazil.

I think it's great that the "reps" for the company get on here and talk or fight or share info etc...

Let's just all be freinds? I will go out on a limb and say that I would bet that the two amps perform similarly. They are of a similar design with subtle differences that may or may not make that much of a difference.

I agree the board in the SD amp looks nicer, but if you think about it, the old school amps that everyone just RAVES about has boards in them that look like the one in the Stetsom amp. I doubt the board being prettier would make much difference either.

I say send DB-r the amp for testing... even though he already has a contract with Stetsom i do believe he will give an honest review.

2009 stetsom 2k5d with single nt45 toroid transformers (same as 7k2d) vs 2008 2k5d with two nt35 toroid transformers.
