stereo gurus's.. need help mtx1501d and 8500's

I need to find out if the this amp is 1ohm stable? the speakers are wired in parallel and I have the amp wired at 1 ohm right now... is it safe? can this amp handle it ? I had wired everything parallel @ 2 ohms but for the equipment being what it is I didn't think it was hitting the way it should be.. also when I turn it up it seems like my mids fade away, is this a sign i need to cap my subs? or what can this be? i never encountered this problem before..

Thanks for any help...

depending on which 1501d it is.

the newer one is rated at 1500@1 and obviously runs at 1 ohm.

the older 1501d runs 1500@2 and needs to have a protection circuit removed to run at 1 ohm.

the 1501D pulls alote of current, i used to have 2 of them modded and ran them at .35 strapped
i imagine they did pull alot of current like that //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif
