Stereo = 2.5 DIN slots?

I just checked online and read that the stock console in my car takes up 2.5 DIN slots. I'm a bit concerned because I'm looking to buy a headunit soon.. and now I'm worried that I'll have like empty space there? Is that what's gonna happen? I'll have like a hole above my cd player?

No, what you will get is a mounting kit...you can get them from Crutchfield. What they will give you in a mounting frame that will fit the HU into the OEM slot with a CD pocket for the +1.5 Din left over for a clean look

Can't afford that at all...

I'm just looking to install a regular cd player in there... I just need to fill the 1.5 DIN slots somehow... either with a mounting kit made especially for my car... or I've seen people put like a pocket or cd holder in 1 din slot... and maybe if there's any stupid thing to fill up that other .5 din space... I don't know... I just need 1.5 DIN slots filled with any stupid accessory or mounting kit

Crutchfield, Best Buy, Circuit City, tweeter, etc... may have what you are looking for.

like others have suggested CALL THEM UP. Crutchfield is your best bet.

if you have some space left over from a pocket there get a peice of plexie glass some tape and some black spray paint now with the tape write or draw something on the plexie glass, then spray paint over the whole thing wait for it to dry take the tape off fit it to the din get a little neon tube and put it behing the plexiglass in the din, now your car is customized and that space is gone
