Steering Wheel Controls to new Stereo

Hello everyone, this is my first post here. I just bought a Honda CRV LX 2009, and today I installed a sony mex-bt3000p. When I was installing it, I noticed an extra harness. I assume that is for the auxillary and steering wheel audio controls. My question:

Is there anyway to interface the steering wheel controls with this particular stereo?

Yes, you'll need an adapter to do so. I've had good luck with the Axxess ASWC. PAC also makes one, but I haven't used it much.

It will. On the back of your unit there will be an input similar to an aux input. It's been labeled WRC (wired remote control) on the units I've dealt with. That's where it will connect.

If you're purchasing a newer model ASWC adapter it should be connectable to any laptop/computer via USB for a firmware update. Chances are if it doesn't work with your stereo out of the box after an update it will. Could always send them an email before you buy if you're that concerned I guess.
