I started the install today. My goal was to be able to lift top & bottom layer up so I can get to the spare tire. I cut finger holes in the bottom layer to get my hand in there and lift up on it. I was originally going to go with some sort of hinged setup where I would take the top layer off, and the bottom layer would use door hinges to get to the spare....buuuuuuut, I realized that other than "cool" factor there's no reason to do that since I can easily lift the bottom layer up high enough to get the spare out. For the top, I will likely secure it by using 4 screws, in the top & bottom corners. The sub-box will go back in the very back...I'm probably gonna have a very tight squeez, but it should go. The box is 14" tall, the floor will be 3.75" and the total trunk height is 18". :xyxnervou
I finished cutting the two layers and getting the bottom one installed with my 4-channel amp installed as well. I'm waiting on my 1000/1 to come in from warranty.
I would like opinions on the fan I'm using. It's a 4" computer fan I got for free. It runs kinda loud, but I don't hear it with the rear seat up. It's a ball bearing fan I believe as well. I got two of 'em for free when work was trashing some, so I thought I'd give them a shot before I buy new ones. I plan to use 1/4" plexi to showcase the amps, and one fan pulling the air from the inside, but I might use two?...
Here's a couple pics:

I'll clean up the wiring some (but not much) when the other amp gets installed. I'll keep this post updated as I progress. Hopefully I'll be done by Saturday night. My biggest issue is getting the top layer routed for the plexi.
