Standard Cap Pickup (Help a NOOB)

I have a 94 toyota standard cab with two itty bitty 4 inch speakers right in the dash and thats all i really needed right now but man i would love to hear a little bump in there...i was thinking of adding an 8' or 10' sub in the back but dont know if i would also need an amp with this small setup. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Ya your gonna need an amp. 8" speakers vary a lot on what sort of power they need. Some can handle quite a bit like the kickers but you can find some that should sound decent on a small amp. You might also consider one 10 and a small mono amp if you have room. Also consider buying a good set of components some of the mid bass woofers on these will produce enough base but youll need an amp on these also.

Do you have room in your doors for any 6.5" component speakers? A nice set of components could liven up your front stage pretty well, and if it were me, I would purchase a set of components first.

On the other hand, if you are only going to be running those 4" speakers for your front stage, then (4) 8" subs are a little extreme. If you are keeping your 4" front stage set-up, then if it were me, I'd go with one 8" or 10" for the time being.

Dang would it be a hell of a lot of fabrication to throw those components in the doors..lol or could i take the easy way out and put two 6x9's and throw them in a box in the back.

Do you have a spot in your doors for speakers? Have you thought about kick panels? You can find some pre-made non-sealed Q-logic kick panels for your car, that would be an option, as well as making some yourself.

No problem. Good luck on your install. This forum is a good resource to ask any questions, and don't forget there's a search button //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
