stacking fuses

hmmm. i doubt it would act as a 500amp fuse. now if you were to have 2 seperate runs of wire. one 250A fuse on each wire then. I think it would act as a 500 amp fuse

ok thanks, but what if an amp needs to have an external fuse of 500amps and it only takes 1 run of wire, how can it be done if you can't find 500amp fuses???

thanks for the link! i knew you can get fuses up to 500amps, but had no clue about 750amps. Either way, i am wondering if stacking the 250 amp fuses is possible. why worry about what fuses the amps need? the inline fuse is for the wire not for the amps.

If you can get them to physically fit and get a solid connection on both without bending the tabs too much or cracking the housing, then yes it should work. It will end up being a bit more than you want though. 2x250 would be more than 500 but who knows by how much.

I hope the wire isnt 1/0. Make sure your wire can handle that much current before worrying about the fuse.
