Maybe you guys can help me decide witch sub would be better for a shallow mount. My box dimensions are 35x12x16in with the baffle on 35x16. There is most likely going to be a port behind the sub witch would make it displaced even more shallow. The box is going to be tuned at 32hz for one 12 Icon or Q. Which sub do you think will perform better for this box? Should I go Aeroport instead?

i like the icon more at least for ported from what ive heard the q performs better sealed though

Huh. My Q does, but then again it had a cooling option and is an older model. I think the new Q's still have it, but the BL's don't

I haven't heard the Icon but I've heard multiple Q setups including my own and I love them.

New Q's don't have pole vents. But I loved my Q's when I had them.

Exact opposite for me. No personal experience with the Q but I've had and heard a few Icons and they're amazing.

By that they mean the sub dosnt need any room behind the magnet to breath. Some subs have a hole in the back of the magnet with which air flows threw hints the term "vent".

The pole vent is the hole on the bottom of the motor that helps to relieve pressure under the dustcap and to cool off the coil

I was going to get cooling and spider on the Q.what do you mean precision port? I was going with a kerfed port I think.
