SS Ref 700S or US MD41 for comps?

Hey Guys,

What do you think will be better for my CDT HD-62's. A Soundstream Reference 700S rated at 150w x2 @ 4ohms or a US amp MD41 rated at 180w x 2 @ 4 ohms.

I have a 700s, and an MD2 is on the way for my XXX. Still undecided if I should match it up with an MD41 or stick with the 700s.

Opinions.

I thought it was the MD42, not the 41.
Plus I bought a MD3 and 42 from flakko last week
No, I have an MD2 and I'm thinking of purchasing an MD41.

If you already got the MD2, why not get the MD41 to match? Personal preference, but it just nice when you get matching equipment.
Yeah, that's what I was thinking, but what will perform on the same level?

I love old Soundstream but are the newer Merlin line comparable?

and if I got the MD41, I would have to sell the Reference 700s, is it worth it ya think?

Go with the SS, I've seen Ref. 500 bench close to 600 @ 1ohm. Also last week there's been alot of Ref. amps on ebay that look pretty **** good. Wish they were Rubi's tho.

yeah, I'm thinking I'll stick with the 700s eventhough the MD41 would look much better. Don't really got the money right now and I think the 700s will do the CDT's justice.

okay, so I hooked the 700s up, sounds amazing btw. I'm just wondering on the settings? Mu HU is 2 volts so I should match that and make the gains on my amp 2 volts? I put it right in the middle and in sounds good, so I dunno. Also it should be on stereo - full range?? for my comps? or high pass??

I was also playing around the the x-over frequency level but it didn't seem to make much of a difference whether it was on 20hz or 150 hz? Is this because of the CDT x-overs in my door are already set?

Sorry, not to farmiliar with tuning systems.

I just kinda did everything by ear //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
