What are your thoughts on buying amps that are refurbished? I can save around $35 if I buy an amp refurbished rather than new.

First I would want to know who refurbished the amp.

A certified technician or some random guy in his garage....

Refurb stuff usually doesn't come with the same warranty as new stuff, so $35 bucks, go new....

What about amps refurbished by the manufacturer and being sold by the manufacturer with a 1 year warranty?

How many of you have or have had a refurbished amp? If so did you have problems with it? Is it still working?

I bought a refurbished orion 400.2 from Ikesound and havent had any problems at all.. Id do it again..

nevr bought an amp that was refurbished, but all my decks i have bought i usually buy factory refurbs. i never had a problem. It saves you alot of money. Back when the kenwood excelon kdc-989 was 500, i got it for 349 with a year warranty. If its a 35 dollar difference....get the new, if its like a 100 as said above, take the chance. i would.

I bought a certified kicker refurb 800.2, and it wrked for 2yrs, then died. I think my faulty groud may have had something to do with it.

I picked up a JL 500.1 refurb. back in 03 (refurbished by JL)

...it's still in daily use today with no problems.
