SS Damp Pro Install

That's a lot of wasted money for no significant reduction in resonant frequency. There are better materials you can use to add weight as well as provide a better barrier against external traffic noise. I wouldn't advise people to put layer after layer of CLD on their install. Buy mass loaded vinyl instead and use bracing for your car's panels or expanding foam in pockets to eliminate rattles. Use Damplifier at 25%-33% coverage to reduce metal resonance only, not as a barrier and not as a way to add weight and not as a way to brace surfaces. Damplifier is not an effective "cure-all" and it's very expensive also. You could get superior results with different materials that will do a better job at lower overall cost.

CLD (damplifier) for metal resonance control at 25% to 33% coverage.

Closed cell foam between panels to prevent rattles.

Great Stuff foam in hollow metal pockets to resist against bass from flexing the panel. (This will increase SPL inside the vehicle).

wood or metal plates glued or bolted to flat panels to stiffen them and prevent bass from flexing large panels. (This will increase SPL inside the vehicle)

mass loaded vinyl to add weight to a panel to lower it's resonant frequency where needed.

mass loaded vinyl as a barrier for keeping sound in and blocking out external noise. (This will increase SPL inside the vehicle better than 1 or 2 layers of Damplifier, in fact you need up to 6 layers of damplifier to match a single 1/8th inch layer of mass loaded vinyl as a barrier, do the math, mass loaded vinyl does a better job at a fraction of the price).

That is a more effective plan for treating a car's surfaces and it's cheaper than smothering everything with damplifier. This is actually the plan I've put together for my own car which I am in the process of treating now.

If you want to consult a business that will give you good advice he got from actual engineers and only wants to sell you the products you 'need' to get the job done, try sound deadener showdown. The guy started his site as a product testing ground, then he decided to put together superior acoustic treatment plans with top of the line products and start his own business.

Left my camera at the house so no vids.
