Square Magnets

Now I've seen plenty (and even owned) speakers with square cones, but has anybody ever seen speakers with square magnets? I came across these on ebay. Anybody ever seen any time of magnet design other then circular?

seen lots of them they were more popular years ago.I do beleive alot of speakers like that used alnico magnets not sure though.

That might be why. I Was not into car audio as much then.

they were used in home and pro audio havent seen any for car audio yet.looks like eminence still makes one for M.I. use picks small so i cant see it well but it is using an alnico magnet

Yep, those are a home audio speaker.I had a few back in the late 80's early 90's.

My Klipsch home audio system from like god knows when all have square magnets I think..
