I am helping a friend out w/ his system he currently has 2 12" sony xplod's, a "1200 watt" sony xplod amp in a pre-fab ported box //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif . He is selling all of his equipment that he has. His vehicle is one of the new Charger's. He was complaining to me about how much he hated his system and wants something better. The sub budget is ~200.00 he mainly listens to rap but wants a decent sounding output. I will be building the box and he will be putting about ~800 wrms to the sub. What would you guys recommend for some clean sound but can still get loud?

For $200 shipped off eBay, you can get an Eclipse SW8200, a very good sounding driver ... A little more SQ than SQL.

Gonna need how the amp is setup. I'm guessing its a 2ch bridged @ 4 ohm for 800wrms? Either that or monoblock @ 2 ohms.

I've heard the Fi "Q" series are good subs. Brand new the 12's are $260 shipped.

I'd start looking at the classifieds section, too.

treo ssi, it's gonna cost 300 instead of 200 but it'll take 800 watts rms all day long(thats what i'm putting to mine) and it's loud and sounds perfect doing it.

go with either fi Q or sound splinter rlp nice sub good SQ and with great output.
