sql sub/amp, $450 budget

my friend is getting rid of his tc1k and is lookin for another sub... his budget is $450 for a sub and amp. he is leaning towards a 15in sub... like a tc2k or a fi bl.... any other ideas? the amp can be bought off ebay, factory refurbs are ok.

Hmm...at that price, maybe a Maw, or an Ascendant audio sub? Amp......I'd suggest looking at used perhaps, plenty of nice amps in the for sale section. I'd say get the sub new, and look for an amp in the forsale section that matches your required wattage. Generally speaking, there isn't much in there thats junk persee.
