SQL Components?

I was considering the Type X components, but I was told by several people they the SQ is great, but they simply dont get loud enough.

Type R Components is a possibility, but I dont want to go that low.

Any suggestionso n what components to loko at with pretty good sq that get loud?

I have never understood this phenomena....speakers not getting loud enough....I would think this has to do more with the signal source, signal strength and amplification rather than the driver, but I could be wrong. I have 75 watts on my comps right now and they are loud and CLEAN....why the need for loud music anyways??? I just don't get it!?!?!

i dunno i think bostons get pretty loud but you probably need more power, as they are power hungry. how much you got to spend big boy?

I'm serious as a heart attack over here! Make sure the signal is hot, clean and powerful and any comp set will do just fine. Hell get the Type X's and biamp them....the x-overs on that set are great.

All music ends up being like that for me, the need for impact anyway. Unless it's shitty music.

Either way I don't have a clue what to do to get louder, on a suggestion from squeak and Jim and Jazn i'm getting the Memphis MClass sync series for frontstage and rear fill, i don't know what else to do.

I can only assume adding rear fill adds more loudness, even if it in some way negates from sound quality due to phase cancellation or whatever.

BTW, how are those Infinity coaxials treating you?

I think that having speakers in the rear that are properly set up with T/A and such can raise the noise floor (or whatever you call it).
