Sq songs?

Just curious, but what kind of music (or whatever) is used for SQ competions?
and if its songs give me some ideas, or just give me some ideas anyway
Any old classical songs like mozart and beethoven have excelent SQ. Some eagles songs are pretty good, as well as linkin park because of all the different sounds they have in their music. When checking SQ, anything but the actual cd or 320kb is worthless even looking at.

I d/l'ed Evanescence's first album, and it sounds like a good SQ album IMO...

Yepp, been liestening to that album alot....really has a good range of instruments....and the girls voice is mazaing. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/cool.gif.3bcaf8f141236c00f8044d07150e34f7.gif

And did you dwl any of their demo stuff....like the origiinal bring me to life...w/o that guy.....and that 10min thunderstrom //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Also....I found that The Offspring has some great recorded albums...... I don't mean the talent...just the quality of the recording on like "smash" or "americana" ....can tell they spent the $$ in gettin a top notch recordin studio.

my recommendations:

anything by Slipknot (layers of precussion)

anything from Linkin park

Starflyer 59 - Le Vainqueuer (noise rock)

No Doubt - Hella good (hushed vocals and distinct midbass line)

Adema - The way you like it (high pitch guitar line)

Deftones - digital bath (lots of hushed programming fill)

Fold Zandura - Please believe (clean flute lead, smooth rhythm)

Mansun - Negative or Legacy (layered/hushed vocals, PERFECTLY balanced and clean recording)

ive said this before, but i love the crystal method, tweekend. has awesome highs and mids, tight and also very boomy bass.

In IASCA, they use the official IASCA competition CD for that year...

In USACi, they use the official USACi competition CD for that year...

You'll find a lot of various jazz, instrumental, and some rock on them.

The eagles' live version of hotel california is a popular one for USACi... IASCA doesn't use much of anything mainstream, so I could mention some tracks, but they'd likely never connect with anything...

Telarc has a hand in making a lot of clean recordings, they take their mastering very seriously.

Things I use for regular listening that are recorded above the standard:

CD's by the artists:

Jack Johnson

Crash Test Dummies

Eagles

Fleetwood Mac

Amanda Marshall

Eric clapton and BB King's "Riding with the king"

Eric Clapton

John Lee Hooker

Rush

I have more, and I could be specific, but the list gets really long...
