Ok so a buddy and me were discussing what is better for SQ. He says that there are no need for speakers behind you in the car. I on the other hand think the music sounds richer with rear speakers. So what is the standard in the SQ world?

down here,

for SQ, we just ditch the rear fill as it messes up your front stage.

i do it too.

makes tuning of the sound stage easier.

for hardcore competition SQ cars, rear fill is ditch too ( for all the cars i've seen)

Cheers :0

This, hands down.

Rear speakers have little or no use in a car environment unless you're doing strict 5.1

Though, as for personal preference, that's all you. And this will probably open up a big can of worms.

The way you worded your question though, is pretty cut and dry...

I'm building a SQ system atm and everyone for the mot part says not to put the rears in with the substage.

I have a dvd player installed, i like the surround sound. ALso i don't like the constant bass booming every second i drive my car so i will turn my sub stage off from time to time.. I sounded great with just my components and tweeters i just felt like something was missing when i didn't have my sub hooked up..

As far as with my substage hooked up i can't say atm because i have not got that far.

I figured what he was arguing was true. I just must be weird because i love speakers surrounding me. plus it would be hard to put a real nice front stage in my truck and stay within DBdrag rules.

talk to wayne I have seen some vehicles with tricked out kick panels and door pods compete in street classes. I couldn't tell you if it was just because it was a small show or they were in super street.
