SQ plus SPL?

Any thoughts if this might sound good at all? I have 2 Rockford TypeX amps for Subs...was thinking of running 1 amp for 1 sub on the SQ side. Would it be "ok" to have 1 amp for 2 SQ subs at 2 OHMs and the other for 2 SPL subs? Or is this overkill....thanks in advance.

Would they be playing at the same time? If so it would most likely sound like ***. Mixing different subs is a bad idea. If you had it set up to where you could switch from one to the other that might be cool, but a big waste of space imo.

Yes...was just figuring out what to do with my setup...peeps like SQ (I do)..and others like SPL. Was just wondering if there was a way to have the best of both worlds....but if I have to make a choice..I will definitely go with SQ.

It would work as long as you didn't play the different subs at the same time. Not really worth the effort or expense IMO. Like supa keeps saying, SQL subs pretty much are what you are looking for. They can sound good, and they can get loud, and all in one package.

y dont u just connect the SQ subs with one a pair of RCA from head unit SW1 RCA OUTPUT,

and SPL subs, with another RCA , from headunit SW2.

Because then he would need to buy two subs, design and build two sub boxes, wire two amps, etc etc. Would be so much easier to just get a SQL sub.

Sometimes it is better to show someone what a better option would be rather than simply answer the question. How many Cap debates have there been?? Many, because along with explaining how to wire them we explain why they shouldn't be used. Same concept here.
