you sturrin at me brah?
i've got a crossfire vr2000d that i love, but recently screwed up having it mounted to the box. i sent it off to ciaengineering for repairs today. my diamond d5 600.2 is screwed too, but i didnt figure it was worth the money to have it replaced, so im thinking of just buying a crossfire vr602 to match the 2000d.

i loved the SQ and adjustability of the diamond, just not the bulkiness. the crossfire will be as narrow as the 2000d, so i can make a backseat amprack easier, and will look a lot nicer. how will the vr602's SQ and crossover options stack up to the diamond?

Should be able to find specs as far as crossovers somewhere. Not sure on the sq, but I doubt youll HEAR a difference.......

Tried to PM you, your box is full......how much was the repair on the crossfire? What are you going to do with the blown diamond?

probably hang onto it, try and get someone local to look at it, i dont figure its worth 20-30 bucks to ship someplace thatll charge me another 50 or so just to look at it, then probably another 100 to get it fixed and back to me, when thats about what i paid for it in the first place.

dont know how much the repair on the crossfire will be, but should be right around 180 with shipping both ways.

yeah, all the online places i saw were right around the same. ciaengineering was the only one out of 4 that replied to my email given a week, so they got the business.

That sucks, noone replied within a week.....

With all the talk of kb going downhill, it would be nice to get an amp repair shop setup that has nice prices and can keep in touch with potential customers......

whats wrong with putting it on the box?

i thought all of the angles on the box would be enough to brace it. i noticed it flexing when i first turned it on, but i didnt think it was really bad, and i'd been without bass for weeks, so i said **** it and went for a drive to compare it to the sealed box with some familiar songs.

about 5 minutes later my 500 dollar amp starts making noises.... live and learn i guess. added some bracing to the box so it doesnt rip itself apart, but im still putting the amps on an amprack just to be safe. dont really want hundreds of dollars worth of amps sitting all shiny right underneath my hatch glass either, might as well put a sign on the windshield that says "system, steal me"

well i picked up a vr602 on ebay, fairly cheap i think, 268 shipped for a brand new in box amp. should look nice mounted next to the vr2000d. probably gonna take me a couple weeks to brainstorm and build this amprack for my backseat, but i'll throw up some pictures when i get it all finished up.
