Allright i have been around car audio forever nothing I havent done with it. My problem now with the ever changing ways of speakers and amps and so forth, what I want to do now is biuld a nothing but badass sq system dont have to be overkill just sound good is all what amps, speakers, and components do the young guys recommend now days. Mind you in my days we didnt have the choices that there are now. I have had nakamichi head units that ate my best tape and was traded for the first alpine cd deck that hit the market $1300 back then for it. I have had 2 -15" n 4-10" in 78 transam no backseat of course. had a 86 sunbird with 4-12" and a audio eqx n 2xs crosovers and 3 hifonics amps back then with dual batterys then the baby came. I am looking at 1 12" or 2 10" pushing about 500 to 600 on subs 4ohm or 2 ohm doesnt matter myself i figure a 2ohm 12 opposed to 2 10 though for box constraints but more area with 2 10s. Amps there are so many choices now day have had carever, hifonics autotek, soundstream, what amps do people like now days and what the hell is with the db ratings now for cea 2006 why half the time they dont put down thd anymore its always done in% what the hell is that. I dont listen to much rap so a ported box is not going to happen and dont like the way they sound as pressure changes. I want sq max 1000 watts total sys with sub and 6.5 components and subs and so what are people recommending amp, speaker and subs now days seems like alot alot of people are pushing crap nowdays. sony, fosgate whatever else, what is what nowdays.

Hi there,

For SQ, here's my recommendation for a very simple yet great sounding setup.

Deck- Go for the Pioneer P88RS( i tink its called this over there rite?). this deck is all in one, u've got break tuning capabilities.

Amp: Bulter Tube Driver Blue 575. there is a series where the 5th channel is 100 watts @ 4ohms, 200 watts@ 2ohms.

sub: get ur hands on a RE audio RE 12" sub(or maybe a 15"). these babies are easy to drive and the butler will drive them well.

speakers: guess u have many choices, a cheap reasonable one would be teh OZ audoi Matrix components. those i tink are cheaper in the US.

run an active setup and u'll get great SQ.

a simple yet great sounding setup.

cheers

he said SQ not a rap machiene. the SE likes rap man.

i would suggest going into a store and playing with headunits. look for one that has front\rear\sub preouts and has mp3\wma support - or DVD audio support, that way you can burn MP3 data to a disc and listen to 200+ songs on each CD, or with the DVD audio you can fit 8gb of file data on each disc. thats like 1\3 of my music collection.

then i would look into a 5 or 6 channel amp. this would work well for your application.

http://www.edesignaudio.com/edv2/product_info.php?cPath=22&products_id=550

then i would look into eaither a pair of 10" image dynamics IDQ or ID 10's, or a IDQ or ID 12.

if you got the 10's, you would need dual 2 ohm voice coils for a final 2 ohm load for the ED amp, or you could get a dual 4 ohm 12" one for a final 2 ohm load.

as far as frontstage is concerned. there are so many products out there, i have not tried many of them. people these days tend to recommend this new crystal CSS6 component system that is under $200 i think. if you wanted to go all out, maybe look into a DLS 3 way component set. put the midrange and tweeter up in the dash somewhere, and then the mid in the door.

you might want to look into sound deadening. elemental designs sells that too.

wiring kit, i would look into kicker hyperflex because it looks great, it flexes well and it comes with all the stuff needed to install it. its on the expensive side, but *i think* its worth it.

and just get some small rear fill coaxials on the other two channels of the amp, or you could bridge your front components to the 4 channels and double the power.

that should not pose a huge tax on your stereo.

i dunno. im kinda in a fuzzy mood, cant think about it too much more lol //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

The Pioneer model is DEH-880PRS here in the States and should be a good choice.

The Butler amp is going to cost a ton, will serve to heat the truck and not sound "better" than a good solid state amp. If you like the sound of tubes that can easily be simulated on a solid state amp The RE series from RE isn't exactly what I'd call an SQ sub either. Better out there.

What's your budget and reg cab or ext.?

Also don't be afraid of a ported enclosure. I don't do rap either but I really like my current ported setup and the last one I had as well. In a low powered system the way a ported box can fill out the bottom end without a lot of power is really nice. Design ad build the box right and you will not notice a difference in SQ.
