The simple answer is this, Image Dynamics IDMAX. It is a 12" sub, that handles 1,000 RMS, and goes down to something like, 22 or 23 Hz. I have heard it too, this sub delivers! It has high Xmax, good SQL, and awesome SPL. This sub will not fail you. Plus, it is cheap. You can find it for about $310.00. Truly, this is the sub. Though 13w7, is a tad better. This sub gets lower than the w7s, though. Just about the same Xmax, and pretty much the same SQL and SPL.

It's called IDMAX. W7 has some sick low end, I don't think the IDMAX can match it there...

W7 also has a tad more SQ, as well as about 5mm more excursion...

Anyway, the IDMAX has been mentioned about 20 times in this thread, and the guy already decided on a sub, the Eclipse Titanium, so why are you even posting this? You are about a week late on this thread...

If you want to be picky,

IDMAX12(v.2 I believe) = 24.9mm one way linear XMAX

13W7 = 32mm one way linear XMAX

Not like it should affect a decision...

The IDMAX12 v.3 is $450 USD, from the internets only authorized dealer, Sounddomain.

no...you must be terribly mistaken...the w7s get GREAT lows and i doubt the IDMAX can match it....and even if they could they wouldnt be able to maintain the amount of sq that the w7 delivers at such a low level...

Listen to them. The IDMAX. They're cheap, they're good. Quality meets price? Not in this situation. They're better than what you pay!

And, by the way, I was late, on this conversation.

SORRY:D

They are $450 from the only authorized online dealer...thats cheap?!?!?

I haven't seen one for under $320 online anywhere, is that cheap as well???

Don't get me wrong, they are great subs, but they aren't 'cheap'

Anyway, why do you insist on him getting an IDMAX? He already decided, and I believe bought an Eclipse Ti.

I believe, the word, you're, searching for, is syntax,,,,,,,,,,,,,,and, i doubt, that a, farmer, has heard, any sub,,,,,,,

seems like brad is obsessed with this low fequency thing...

Brad, you don't have to mention Hz all the time. I'm sure subwoofers can go real low. Human ears can't hear too low anyhow.

HEY:

I am just posting here because this is the most popular/most viewed thread I have ever created and I have a question. I just recieved my 12" Titanium, and OH BABY, this thing is a beast, upwords of 30 lbs, and nice as hell, you can tell the construction of this thing is amazing. Anyway, I just took a look at my tracking information for my US Acoustics amp and it will be here today!!! So that means all I am waiting to do is design my enclosure.

OK MY QUESTION:

I figured out the optimal box size using WinISD and the thiele small parameter from the manual. With Qtc of .7070 I came up with .70 cuft, (so I guess I WAS right before.) And the volume of the sub is .19cuft. So does a .90cuft enclosure sound? Also in the Eclipse manual it say "Always make your enclosure about 10% larger than required.... blah blah... enlarge the enclosure by +10%" So 10% more means .99cuft, does this sound perfect to anyone else?

THANKS AGAIN

anybody know the theile/small parameters on the W7? I can't find it on their site and all they do is ramble on about the technologies of it. Are you sure that 32mm xmax is true DUMAX vertified Xmax or just theoretical xmax? since it obviously has more cone area than a Brahma wouldn't 32mm of xmax make it louder?
