There are no SQ amps. Best thing to do is to find a good amp that does rated power and focus on the speakers. Spending extra money on a supposingly high quality amp such as a Zapco, JL Audio, McIntosh is a waste of money. Get a good mid level amp that will do it's rated power and put more emphasis on the speakers. Also watch the gains on the amp.

I am gonna be running a new set of rainbows (profi vandium kick 3way) on it, active, yeah i had to replace my old set, car got stolen... insert sob story here, so insurance kicked in and i am trying to alter my system a bit. yeah i had a few brands in mind, that were recommended, but i wasnt sure, I hate making decisions when it comes to different brands.

Thanks for the input

BULLSHIT!!!!! Some people just can't hear the difference so they try to say there isn't one. Anyways if you want really nice sq try a butler audio tube driver blue 2150. I highly recomend this amp. Vacuum tubes for the car that make vocals and musical instruments sound like no other amp. It might be outa your price range but if you can swing it you'll never be dissapointed.

First off, we are talking about CAR audio in an environment that can have a noise floor as high as 70 decibels while traveling down the highway.

Secondly, if you are so confident in your ability to hear differences between power amplifiers, I believe Richard Clark has $10,000 waiting for you;)

Thank you gunz4me, for coming to my rescue. I believe high quality speakers as well as a high quality amp makes the difference in excellent sound. But to spend the extra money buying a Sifoni, Audison, MacIntosh, etc isn't worth it. The differences between amps are very minimal.

If people really understood that there were minimal differences between the sound in amps, then there wouldn't be so much switching between members on this and other car audio forums with the belief that another company is going to offer the bigger and better amp than the last company. It isn't true. I am guilty of believing that myself but no longer believe in the differences between amps because in the process I got to listen to about 70-100 different amps and they all sound pretty much the same. It's better to find a company that you like and stick with them.
