Before I spend a lot of time installing this amp I want to know if anyone is running this amp down to a 1ohm load. Memphis Audio tech support suggested that it would become inefficient running it below the 2ohm minimum that the amp is designed for and recommended against wiring it down that low. I also dont want to fry the thing when I could possibly sell it or trade it for an amp that will do 2000 - 3000 watts at 1ohm. Heres a link to the amp I have.

Im hooking a Memphis 15-M3MOJO15Q to the amp, quad 1ohm coils wired to 1ohm. I have even thought about adding active cooling to the bottom of the amp to keep it cool. This is also for a daily driver setup and not for any competitions if that matters.

If Memphis Audio tech said not to do it, I would highly advise against it, even with additional cooling.

Truthfully, I am surprised that none of that amp's FETS have vibrated loose and burned something yet because that is a common problem with Memphis amps. It is due to the circuit board being held in place by the FETS and vibrations tend to work them loose over time. Also, the factory soldering job isn't the best //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

Well I guess the sub gets wired to 4ohm and I take it easy on the amp. I really wanted to rock the hell out of my kids car but that will have to wait until he gets money saved for an upgrade.

Thanks for the help.
