I am searching for my future sub and i thought i'd ask for some opinions. Im tired of hearing systems that are just loud and noisy and sound like shit. I am wanting a system that sounds HELLA good without sacrificing SP. I am looking in the $500 range. I have a hifonic 2000 watt amp to power it but will eventually upgrade that too.

What's your front stage consist of?

That's going to make a bigger difference than what you're worried about...by far.

My dilemma was between a pair of ID-max's or a Mag.

I went with a mag due to the lack of money. It's sealed right now, and still gets loud enough for my tastes.

I would say a Mag would be an excellent choice, and you can get a higher quality 1krms amp.

please don't tell me you can hear the difference between the hifonics and whatever other class d amp you'd choose...

i'll let ya know if amps can produce a different sound when i get my DD amps in, to replace my kickers.

If you can get a 6.5" to play 20hz, it will be **** near inaudible.

I would say work on your HU and front stage 80% of sound is not in the 80hz and below region.
