I am searching for my future sub and i thought i'd ask for some opinions. Im tired of hearing systems that are just loud and noisy and sound like shit. I am wanting a system that sounds HELLA good without sacrificing SP. I am looking in the $500 range. I have a hifonic 2000 watt amp to power it but will eventually upgrade that too.

"SQL" is probably the term you're referring too.

Many subs get loud and sound good while doing it. Fi Q's, much of the RE line, etc.

Your system will only be as good as it's weakest link. SQ starts from the HU back. I don't think that foreign made HiFonics 2000 whatever screams SQ more like poo poo.

Doing sub duty, I highly doubt it. If you set the gains accordingly to where you're not clipping the shit out of the signal, then you really aren't going to notice any difference. Just think about how much more distortion your sub causes than your amp does...

There is no such thing as "SQL" in the audio world.

To the original poster, just about any sub will be pretty workable. If you have 2kW on tap, you're probably best off getting a pair of good drivers. How much room do you have to work with?

Nga, you so crazy. SQL is where the subs are loud but your license plate does not rattle. You can put mat on your plate or you can take that bish off.

Yea i have been looking at FI and RE alot lately....I did not know the XXX was for SQ. I was especially looking at the BTL. Is it safe to say this is not and SPL sub?

The BTL is definitely an SPL sub...the XXX is a great mix of SQ and SPL. You can get the older models for a fair price in the classfieds section. I know someone has been selling an 18"er on here...

also when reading the FI website the BL looks like it has the sq of the Q but gets louder...."SPL" . would the BL be more ideal? (i had two type R's before....need to be louder/better than those)
