K this is gonna be run sealed. Has to be a 10" Lookin for great SQ with some decent SPL. Budget is about $250. Amp can be run up to 1600rms@1ohm.

I have found some of my own ideas, however I appreciate others. My research is below. Feel free to correct me.

I listen to classic rock and country for the most part. Rap is about 20% of my listening.

TC Sounds OEM 10" with Passive Radiator (i know they're out of stock, i can get it though - do these have quality issues with the surround?)

RE SE

Boston G5

Fi Q

SoundSplinter RL-I

Image Dynamics IDQ

Ascendant Arsenal (new one when it comes out)

JL W6V2

SSA Icon

Alpine Type-X

RD Audio Classic

It' possible that if the sub's cheap enough i could go with a dual setup, but for right now, lets just compare 1 sub to 1 sub, not 1 sub to a dual setup.

I might be wrong about some of my suggestions...for example, maybe a certain sub is more SPL oriented than SQ oriented. If i'm off just please let me know.

Thanks for the help.

I thought of the TC-1K but I don't want to purchase anything from TC Sounds. They screwed me over in the past and I'm not dealing with them again. The OEM 10" would be purchased from someone else so that's why its under consideration.

I'm aware that not every sub is gonna want 1600 watts....I was simply implying I have up to 1600 watts i can send them. However I can go as low as 450 watts if i need to.

By PM, I've been told to add the RD Audio Classic to my list of options. What I essentially need now are some opinions on which subs aren't gonna do it for me. For example, if you know of a direct comparison that's been done between two of the subs on the list, I will keep the winner and cross out the loser. My goal is to get down to 1 or 2 subs that everyone thinks would do the best. Also, if you own one of the subs on the list, please tell me what you think about it for SQ terms. Thanks

anyone have opinions about the subs up there? ill cross out as i narrow down. ive been told the SI BM-10 is not exactly an SQ sub so i'm going to take that off. plz tell me what you think about the others up there. thanks.

I say either the Fi Q / Rl-i / JL W6v2 as the top choice; TC OEM 10 / RE SE (maybe SX?) / Ascendant Arsenal / IDQ as second choice. Sorry I dont no anything about the other subs. Let me know what sub you're going with cuz I'm going almost the same route, cept with a little less budget. Im leaning toward either the 10 Fi SSD or the RL-i...

lol funny the last two of you both said either w6 or type-x.....i really didnt want to get a mainstream sub....but for some reason ive got this big itch to get one now. idk why.

anyways...talked to a few more people this afternoon who said the IDQ might be too quiet.

apparently the Fi Q might not have that much SQ afterall when comparing to other subs. I'm gonna leave the Q up there right now cause I know plenty of people own one and i can probably get some input as to how much of an SQ sub it really is, but it's probably next off the list.

i still don't know anything about the RE SE, AA Arsenal, RD Classic, and SSA Icon. I'd love to hear more about those if anyone can fill me in. Thanks for the input so far. W6 and Type-X will definitely be in my final group of subs to choose from. Just gotta keep narrowing it down though.
