***SPLluminators 149.9 Bassrace Wall Build***

aha, i wasnt quite sure if i was missing something. i saw 5 holes in the wall, but you only had 4 subs, i was like wtf? the pics helped clarify what the 5th was for...

im about to do some 8's in my doors... i thought that was big. 10's is just nucking futs.

Got it playing last night, not exactly the loudest thing in the world but id guess a solid 148 or so off one 20.1 and one batt and stock alt. So we'll see if i see a gain from 400 watts per sub to around 1000 watts. Im hoping itll be a db or so. And then when i raise tuning itll bring the port off the back of the box some so i should see an increase there. The current port is close the that step in the box(look at the first post for pics). So im thinking when the port is smaller(shorter) itll bring the port off that step and increase SPL.

One thing i am VERY impressed with is the sound quality, i dont think ive EVER had a setup that sounds near this good. It wangs on songs like beats for my van and love ur girl. And it still hits the highs great too. Very flat response. I didnt expect rediculous SPL from these tuned at 27 hz but i man am i impressed.

OK well i got it on a TL heres the results on only 1 amp and 1 batt(alt isnt in yet so voltage dropped a bit):

I was shocked about this but i peaked at 51hz:crazy:. But i was only about 1 db lower at 38hz. So i think if i raise tuning i should be at 149.9 with only one amp, then once i throw the other in we can see what itll really do.

149.1 - Driver door open, meter on windshield

146.8 - Music door open, (couldn't find a song that peaked where i wanted so this # is kinda low)

Overall, this is right about what i expected considering im only running 1 amp and its tuned at 27hz.

Out of curiosity why are you testing with the door open for a bass race vehicle that has to be sealed up? What's the difference in score vs. closed up? Also it might be changing your peak frequency to open the door....depending on box, my peak goes up as much as 10hz when I open the door.

If you're peaking at 51hz, you should try Go to Sleep by Eminem, starting at 20 seconds in it is very consistent between 48-51hz, perfect for bassrace.

Yea ive got that song on my bassrace playlist with the freq next to it. Didnt try it tho for some reason lol. But i hit a 146.6 sealed up. They didnt let me mess with it much tho so i will next time with the new port.
