spliting guages?

hi. just wondering. i have 4 guage going to the rear of my trunk and i have 2 JL500.1 amps. now should i run ANOTHER 4 guage back to me 2nd amp, or just do the easy split into 8 guage?? i mean do you lose , if any, power when spliting wire like that? i mean the split 8 guages would only be a foot long. of course i know running each amp its own wire is probably the best thing to do, but how much bigger the difference? thx!

You should upgrade to either 2awg or go full bore and run 1/0. After that split the main line into smaller 4awg lines off of a fused distro.
