They have set records believe it or not. Power acoustik makes SPL they are both good mid range brands.

really so its nothing super crappy then huh? thats good news coz i saw them for really cheap. i bet 3 would pound with the right power

Well I saw two SPL Mojos hit 163db max with 2000watts rms into each. They are the same as the PA Mofo's. They are both good companys!! I have used PA and SPL in the past and both were solid.

so if the subs are 1 ohm dvc...there is no way i can get it to 2 ohms right? (i have no clue about the whole ohms thing) coz i think my amp puts out its most power at 2 ohms.

keep in mind im getting 3

Check it out.

For svc, you take the resistance (ohms) of your drivers, and divide by the number of them you have. For instance, two 4 ohm subs would be a 2 ohm load. Three 4 ohm subs would be a 1.333 ohm load.

With dvc drivers, the sub's resistance is double or half of the resistance of each voice coil. So, you could wire a 2 ohm dvc sub to 1 ohm or 4 ohms. A 4 ohm dvc to 2 ohms or 8 ohms. Divide that number by your number of drivers.

Check out one of the wiring diagrams like the dude above gave, they're the best for understanding it.

I had 2 SPL ML-12W's (12's with aluminum cone) in a ported box. They were nice. I had them in a 1988 Convertible Cavalier, and they were loud. I had them running off of a Lanzar 500.2 Optidrive, puttin about 1000 into the pair. I Bumped 139.8 at a local competition, which beat out my buddies 2 L7's. I have a pair of those subs in the same box, brand new everything. If you want them with the box i'll sell it to ya.
