Does anyone know if these are any good. I am just looking for something that will give me a good idea of what I can do before I go to any comps.

I have also been looking at the EPIC-160 but I can't find a price for one. Does anyone own one and how much did it cost???? Is it worth getting one to play with or not. I have priced my stuff and I have a little extra money I didn't think i would have so I want to get one if they are worth it.

THe epic-160 runs $250 MAXIMUM it can read upto 167 or 169 db. its a good unit.

Honestly, the 160 isnt that accurate of a meter......a buddy of ours (a buddy of Team Pure Pressure) has one in his oldsmobile. After we built him a wall w/3 juggernaught 15s on 3.6kW, he was pegging his meter out. We then put him on the Classic TermLab. He did a 154.x which on the new TL is about a 147-148....

I'd say spring for the 550 dollar termlab.usb It runs directly from you laptop, and as such is very portable, and it tracks identically to the 15,000dollar BK mic.

And right now Im just getting a laptop now used...lol Cheap laptops can be found on ebay and at CC and BB in the open box section...

Well it was worth a try...lol. I don't see myself buying one in the near future but maybe down the road a little I will get my hands on one..
