he's got a little over a month to wait for USACi finals, i don't know about the other orgs, but there will be a TL or two for sale. You might have to look on other boards also.

Like Chevyaudio said, IF USACi gets their own meter, there will be a few people sell their TL and jump immediately to the new meter.

I have two pretty cheap laptops IF OP decides to get a TL. Both can run the TL software.

Ok...basically here is the deal.
Get the TL its the most accurate and its the cheaper of the two. The only thing with the TL is that if you are competing in USACi there is talk that Ralph (USACi director) is researching getting a new Official USACi meter made that rivals the TL, becuase frankly USACi is tired of supporting another Soundoff organization by buying their meter. (for those that dont know, the people that own DBdrag own the rights to the Term lab)

Im sick of reading on every forum how the TL is SOOOO Accurate and the AC is SOOO inconsistent.....Both mics derive readings in different ways. I know, I work in instrumentation and i have played with both and compared them to our multi-million dollar sound sensing machine used to detect oil deposits in the ground. When compared in my durango, the TL was off by 5 dcbls compared to our mic...the AC with the 180 upgrade was off by 6 dcbls. And yes the AC was inconsistent, but only to the 1/10 or so. And if you think your AC is not accurate, or if you want it to be TL accurate...TURN THE DIAL UP OR DOWN to get it in seismic with another TL. Both mics are good and accurate to a sense, but if you want to know REAL world dcbls...run your vehicle on our machine, my 152 went to a 145... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

Oh and if you havent checked out the For Sale area lately, im selling my AC, with the 180 upgrade for 400 plus shipping. Its a steal, when just the 180 upgrade cost more than 400 dollars!
