Question is, which way should the sub and port be faceing for the best SPL result in this style of hatchback.....the hatch isnt angled hard like CRX's and some other jap hatches, see the links at the bottom for pics of what it looks like.

i have a single TC4HP, about 3000w, and within the next week or two i'm ging to go measure my cars resonation frequency.

should it go sub up port towards the front. do areo ports have any signifigant advantages besides saving space? i'm looking for a non wall type application. My hopes are to kick some *** in street C, so SPL heads i'd love ur advice on how to do this.

exact same looking hatches as mine:

i'll get internal pics if you guys need.....

i like ur setup btw mazdakid........ur hatch is more angeled than mine...but so far between you2 guys and some other people ive asked they all recommend sub up port back.......

just for better use of space with the seat up not folded down. i would place the sub up and port up aswell. that way there wont be anything in the way of the port or sub. so max air movement. for both the sub and port. or you could make a small enclosure for testing purposes and try every wich way since you are going to compete. then you should try diffrent types of enclosure to see what works best. to be the best you have to do tests. but i would go with sup up port up.

i think sub up and port up would be nice for spl but wont sound good at all...imo

thats why i also sugested trying diffrent styles of enclosure. what works on one car may not work the same in a diffrent car. the reason i sugest the port up on that car is because its a small area for an enclosure, so placing the port back would mean that the enclosure would have to be limited to leaving enogh clearance for the port. i know allot of people dont care about that clearance. but it is nesesary. so by having the port up. you can squeze a bigger box in the limited space. i dont have any prefference on the style of enclosure, im just looking at the area avalible and what would be "best" for the install. i cant say that it will be the "best" posible solution for this particular vehicle. but it just seems like the most sutable for the avalible space.
