I know what dial up is. It uses the phone lines. "DSL" stands for "Digital Subscriber Line", not "Direct Satellite Link" like Papermaker thought.

Satellite internet isn't fantastic, but it's more than enough to access the forums. You can get it practically anywhere. It's more expensive than amazing google fiber that big cities have, but you can still get functional internet in the middle of nowhere. That's all I'm saying

Google Fiber is sweet, but I probably won't get t use it any time soon. Fiber optics technology is cool, but I doubt they'll extend it to the back country where I choose to live

If you are like me youll be lucky with att, which has the a-dsl.

Max youll ever see is 6mbps down and 1 up.

We had att DSL in Springfield, and it wasn't bad. I just hate att as a company. They kept tacking bogus $30 charges onto our bill each month. My mom had to call every month and get them to refund the charge. They never gave a straight answer as to why it was there. It was always "sorry, our mistake. Something with the billing system. Won't happen again"

Lol, true. I don't believe it's natural for humans to be monogamous though. Almost got married twice. Barely dodged that bullet. I get tired of people really quick and I enjoy living by myself.
