speakers shut off, wtf?

this is for a friend-

About a week ago, after i relocated my amp to my back seat, all of my speakers besides my sub would cut off anytime there was a hard bass hit or even if somebody opened or closed the door.

The inside speakers are powered by the HU with no external amp. I have 1 12'' premier running at 380 rms with no cap. I have already checked all the wiring going from the head unit into the adapter and put eletrical tape over any wire showing where i originally soldered. There was only maybe 1 or 2 small fragments of wire showing and a burnt marking on one of my wires, but now theyre covered. My subs still runs fine, but i still do not have any sound from my inside speakers.

Either the HU internal amp is shot, or the speakers are blown-(so if he has all 4 interior speakers off HU power chances are the HU is no longer powering them, highly unlikely ALL speakers are damaged) If the internal amp is shot, as long as he has some more preouts adding an external amp will put'm back in business.

HU works fine, its just NONE of the speakers are working.

I checked all the wires in the harness and everything is all neat n clean so Manny might be on the right track about the HU's internal amp bein shot.

After I talk wit my buddy, I'll find out specifically what HU he has and see if it's history is clean or bad. I do know atm that its a Panasonic HU

i had the same problem, but my comps were being run off of my amp which was brand new so i know it couldnt be the amp. i un hooked my speakers and re hooked them up making sure that they were not lose or any thing. that fixed my problem. if the hu is dimming than it most likely will be the internal amp which most of the time get tired really easly.
