Hey everyone, this is my first post here. I'm having a problem and I don't know much about car audio, so here it is:
I noticed saturday that my car speakers start to make a lot of crackling noises when I'm at a stop light or sitting in traffic. It sounds like rice crispies. The noise only happens when my car is running, and under 1500 rpm. As soon as I hit the gas and the engine revs, the sound disapears, I also don't hear the crackle when I just have the key turned to ACC without the car being started. Its hard to explain, but the crackes seem to follow the speed of my idle, until it hits 1500.
I put the stereo on mute and the pops are still there, it even happens sometimes when I completely turn it off.
Has anyone heard of a problem like this? Please help, this is bugging the crap out of me.
P.S. The car is a 2005 scion xa, all stock speakers, etc.
Thanks!
