Ok later today I am putting in my new HU, and have a question to do with the wiring. I am going to be using a 4 channel amp to power all my speakers, so when installing the HU do I need to connect the speaker wires from the back of the HU to the factory harness? or can I simply tie/tape off the speaker wires from the back of the HU since they will not be used anyway.
I figure if I connect them then all I am doing is running a signal to nowhere (speaker wires not connected to the speakers from HU, but from the amp) so don't see any point in hooking them up. It should save me a nice bit of time not having to solder 8 speaker wires and only having to worry about the power/dimmer wires.
Any possible problems with doing this? I can't think of any, but just wanted to double check. I think the only thing I need to do is make sure I don't leave any of them loose and short something out.
