Speaker setup in my 85 corvette

I'm getting a jl 10w7 installed this week--not the 8w7 like I planned, I just picked up another component set, In my front I have Dynaudio 6.5's in each door and 3" high mids in dash board. I just picked up a set of JL components to run also, 5.25" and 1" tweets, was thinking of using them in the rear and making a fiberglass plate to house them under stock speaker grill--but just got another idea, my door sills have "what looks to be speaker grill covers on each one at the base (feet) area. Should I run these jls at the door sills up front too ? or will it not sound as well if I run them in the rear area? 'No seats in rear of course only a 2 seater...wasn't sure if I should keep the bass in the back and all the tunes up front.

Do you need a rear stage in that small of a car?

I'm not sure...these cars came from the factory with front/rear stage...so yeah I guess so

use the stock rears,unless it sounds like ca-ca.i would'nt mix the 2 brands.

if your going all jl use in the front,buy the dyno's will sound a whole lot better!!

In my dad's 1980 vette we did a single JL 10w1 with boston 6.5" coaxials in the back and plates in the dash. If it were mine I would just amp one set of components in the doors with a nice 2 channel and just ditch the dash speakers.

I went ahead and had the jl xr's put in the back and the dyno's up front---gotta say this sounds TIGHT, especially with that 10w7 in a ported box--wow

You have a Dyn front stage and went ahead and put some JL drivers in, the rear at that?

I guess to each theyre own....
