Speaker door location

I want to install a set of 6.5's in the door panels of my '74' Challenger and unfornately back then there were no electronics in the door. So there's no rubber boot or rubber passthrough to run my speaker wires in. How do you guys run your wires from the body of the car to the door? And do you think i'm benefitting much soundwise by placing the speakers in the door rather then in the kick panel?

you can drill a hole and put a rubber boot there. the door will probably be less work then the kick for speakers. plus they are out of your way a little. that's just my 2 cents

sound wise kicks will always be better im in the same situation you are with my 75 impala and i just took it to a local shop and had them cut out a 6.5 hole
