Speaker amp question on multiple channels

I have a sundown 125.2 on my hat Clarus. I want some additional mid bass so I was thinking of picking up some 6.5s. So would be buying a 4 channel be the best way to power them and my current front stage? As opposed to just being another crossover and crossing out mid bass before the current hat crossover

Are you trying to use the Clarus mids as like a midrange and run the new 6.5s as ,midbass or just trying to add some extra speakers in there?
i have the 5.25 clarus and i am thinkin they are lackin a little mid bass so i was thinking more along the lines of just using the new 6.5s as a midbass and keep the clarus where they are crossed now. (not to sure where that is)

thoughts?

U need more power..... I say keep what u have sell the 125.2 and get a higher powered 4 channel and run active and see then if you don't get the mid bass you are looking for. If you dont get the results you desire then think about adding a set of 6.5's or 7's or 8's..

So just more power on the Clarus?

Are the speakers on a baffle in the doors, an enclosure, etc? This will make a huge difference over the power you give them.
I will look into that thanks!

Local shop sells Hybrid and for their floor models "demo displays" they use a Diamond Audio HEX 700.4 bridged (still running passive) on each set. So right around 350per side 700 for the pair. So yea you need more power.. By the way they are the best speakers I have ever heard at any price point. Their SQ and output just cannot be beaten IMO. I am not saying you need that much power to get all out of them but even with that much power they hold up fine and are just flat out amazing.

Well any speaker that can handle that much power should. Im just saying he can do some minor tweeks to see if it changes the sound for him instead of selling his amp and getting a bigger one. That sometimes makes the situation worse then before. I had some USD Audio 8" midbass and waveguides around ten years ago and the MB ****** until i made a few tweeks. I was very impressed with those but i figured they'd sound good for that price, haha
