I have searched but not found much. I was wondering if there was a company other than pioneer that has made an enclosure that fits inside the spare tire like so

The problem with this one is that it has a 5 1/4 inch sub that is only rated at 75watts rms and I have not been able to find a replacement which takes more.

If not has any one made a enclosure that fits in that space that fits an 8" woofer.

i have never seen a box for a spare tire. I know people will glass them sometimes, even on here. im sure if you search you can find a nice build log or something to get ideas.
I searched but did not find anything other than people building into the entire spare tire area something I dont want to do. I would like to keep my spare.

ohhh. nope never seen that thing in my life. Seems awfully small! is it just a cylindrical enclosure? If that is the case i think you can get concrete tubing and glass over them to make an enclosure. They do have build logs of those on here. It doesnt look to hard, just require money for the glass.

I remembered it from a car magazine I had when I was like 10 and was thinking about it the other day. I found some for sale but they would not last long taking 3x their normally rated power.
I have also considered just getting one and seeing how long it last with 250 rms and the replacing the sub when it blows but I have not found any with high enough power handling capabilities.

JL used to make some vehicle specific enclosures in their Stealthbox series that used all the empty space around the spare in the well for the enclosure and then downfired the sub. The result was that it looked like the spare tire well was molded to the spare. They used 8s and 10s depending on the vehicle. Again they were vehicle specific and I'm not sure that they make any like that anymore.

Tang band 8" are on sale at parts express 150 rms 12mm of Xmax this might work for you? http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?Partnumber=264-854

IF you do a clamshell isobaric it shoud be pretty flat to the sub bass regions. and 2 could take 300rms all day.

Have you seen kenwoods Woox? might be small enough to do hidden in the car somewhere, even right on top of spare tire and then replace carpet.
