space between port and door

ok, in my expedityion, theres about 3-4 inches tell the back door. i could rebuild my battery rack and put those back there, and make that about 8-10 inches. will that make it louder? or leave it how it is?

anyone? want to work on this tongith if it would be louder. im currently setup where batteries are on other side of box. but ill change it if its noticible. 2 vs 10ish inches between port to back door in expedition

First you said 4, then you said 2. How far away is it?

General rule is to keep the port atleast the ports WIDTH away from its loading wall.

So if your port is only 2" wide..... then Id say youre fine

im saying approx. i havent measurted exactly. the ports 8.5inches wide, so im guessing i should have the port atelast 8.5 inches from the wall to be safe?

I would say no less than 5" personally on your setup

I tried this setup (few years ago) and it sounded like poop to me, was tuned to 32 hz, but I feel the hatch when closed acted as a "port" and threw the tuning out the door.

Ill dig up the pic, the ports were CLOSE though, maybe 3"
