Was wondering guys on how many batteries for this amp I have one 1200 kinectic already and the big 3 done with a 300 HO alt. I will be running a FI team 18 at 4k rms so obviously will be using about half the amps power. It seems overkill with this amp but planned on buying another team 18 in the future but for now just the one. I had a colossus 3200 on the sub but even though the amp says stable at 1 ohm it is not Cuz it fried big time. Future reference for anyone getting the colossus and running it at 1 ohm. So any suggestions would be appreciated.

Unless you're running a 16 volt setup you won't get 10k out of that amp anyway.Does about 6k plus at 14 volt.Set the gain to around 4k-4500 and i think you'll be ok.Those Team subs are monsters. EDIT:You'll def want more Batteries in the back.

Yeah I have a voltage meter in the trunk so I can keep eye on it. Yeah it won't be a 16v setup but thought since was only using half the amps power was considering adding one 3100 kinectic to the mix and I should be good. That 300 amp alt is plenty from what I have read, most ppl are running 200 and have plenty of juice with this amp. Idk I guess when it's finished I will find out.

I've got some batts if interested

Big alts help exponentially but will out a decent battery bank you can run into the same low voltage problems as not having the big alt. The batteries nearly buffer the voltage draw since there discharge rate is much faster than the production rate of the alt. I would gander that this is actually what blew you colossus.

Using half the amps power is about 3k+ at 14 volt. That sub will take it.Just get a cpl big agm's.Iv'e ran 2 Soundstream 10k's now. They are good amps but gotta have battery backup too.

I had two xxx6500's with four c&d tech fr270r's and a batcap 4000d and saw some drop, granted it was on a stock rsx alternator but i hardly ever ever turned it up. Each amp saw .67ohm with three SS SPLX 12d2's. Your 10k's may muster 1k more than the 6500's, so load up the batts and good job with the alternator. I'm jelly of those 10k's, such beast mode amps.

What fried the colossus wasn't lack of power, it was the fact that sometimes my sub would go below 1ohm briefly and that amp is **** sure not stable below that. He'll I don't think it was really stable at 1 to be honest. Anyway that's what the professionals have told me. Unfortunately, I'm trying to squeeze all this in the trunk of an 04 Acura TL so I can't go crazy with ten batteries for this amp. I have room for two in the back and that's about it. Now I'm hoping two 3100s in the back and maybe a yellow top in the front will do it if not I screwed.

What was the sub wired to? Be weary of those installers most don't know Jack squat. The xxx series in general is a bad choice for 12v they will go up in smoke fast on lacking electrical and don't do rated unless it's a high voltage. Many better choices for the money imo.. look into crescendo 5500 or hell even a sound qubed 3500. Btw ****** sub choice

I have heard good and bad with this amp and if it came safely push one sub with two batteries and a 300 amp alt then I don't know what's up cuz that's ridiculous. I got this amp brand new for a nice price so I couldn't pass on it. Remember I'm only going to be using half this amps power.
