hey guys. currently i have a pair of incriminator 187s but i am considering getting a pair of tarantula 12"s. my question is, what is you guys' takes on these subs? how is the sq as well as the spl side? how would they compare to my 187s in a 5.5 ft^3 @32 hz enclosure? i have a viper d1200.1 for power btw. would you guys recommend that i get these subs or what type of subs would you recommend in this price range that will kick a$$ in a sql setup. i am also looking to put up some good numbers on the meter. thanks for your input.

I have worked with the 187's before. but I have never heard a tarantula before. I don't think you are going to find too many people on here who have heard both and can comment on both. You would probably have better luck saying you have the 187's, what subs for "this price range" will sound better. Just an idea.

what would you consider to be awesome sql subs in this price range? i have the 187s now but i am considering the tarantulas. i am very open to suggestions so anything you guys have, shoot me plz.

What price range. I meant tell us what the price range is. Sorry for the confusion haha. But I didn't mean just for you to say what I said:laugh:

I've heard the Tarantula's. Skadude, I wouldn't write them off so fast.

see, this is what im talking about. i hear 187s then i hear tarantulas lol. the 187s are indeed monsters but i may need some type of change. the price range is from 150 - 250/sub. i know thats not alot but i just want to see what else will compare to the 187s. i may just wind up getting another pair of 187s unless i see something i like. also, i have heard of the WMDs...any take on those?

i heard 15's w/500 watts. They were starving, but sounded good.

I'm not saying pick either, but change will do you good:cool: If you don't like 'em, sell 'em.

Ive heard both, but in 2 different vehicles. I heard Ska's 2 12" 187s in 4 cubes @ 33Hz and I heard a friends 2 10" T4s in 1.7 each @ 40Hz. Both boxes were built by me, and the 187s were in a late 90s Jeep Cherokee while the T4s were in a early 00s Jeep Cherokee (different body styles). The 187s were on 300 each and the T4s were on 700 each. The 187s were def. louder by a bit, but they also had the cone area over the 2 10s. The subs will take the same amount of power also. And dont forget 187s are dual 2 and T4s are dual 1.

i know ska lives by these subs...they ARE awesome (thanks for those btw). i know the tarantulas are RATED for way more but those who know about the 187s know that there is no problem in the power dept. could anybody recommend anything else to research in case i decide to go with new subs over another pair of 187s? i am just trying to weigh all of my feasable options and go with one over the other...or neither lol. thanks again

Nick
