Can you read off to me what the x-over setting is for ch 1 and 2? I see it's on HPF, but what frequency? From what I see it's point to 4KHz. Is that right?

I believe so, this is the first time for me tweaking an amp. How should I set the arc amp?

If it is truly set at 4KHz, that's the problem! HPF should be set at about 120Hz and then adjust a bit up/down in accordance with your speaker performance and listening preferences.

LPF for the sub: start at 80Hz, tweak from there as you listen to the songs you're familiar with until you get the right sound.

HPF: Start at 120Hz, tweak same as above.

If you didn't take out the SS yet, can you make sure the HPF for ch1/2 is set to 120Hz? I bet if it's set to 4KHz, that's the problem.

Just pulled the amp out, the HPF for 1 and 2 is around 120hz. It's not bottoming at 4khz as I thought.

Ok, try the Arc with same x-over settings. Don't forget to set the subsonic filter as well. Let us know how it sounds.

I am assuming gain is labeled differently on the soundstream. How do I set everything pretty similar on the arc as it was set on the soundstream?

Set ch1/2 to HPF @ 120Hz

Set ch 3/4 to LPF @ 80Hz

Set subsonic filter at same frequency as the SS amp had it

Set gain to 4V for all channels.

Also, are you using x-overs on the Kendwood at all? Please check.

Nothing on the kenwood for x-overs. So if you look at the soundstream for input level, it has 6v on the left and .02 on the right. So translating that over to the arc, is max = 6v and min = .2v?

Some manufacturers mislabel the gain. Ideally, .2V should be more sensitive, meaning the amp only expects a .2V signal. Set it to 4V either way. "Nothing on the kenwood for x-overs" means you couldn't find it or?..Are they off?

Arc is installed. I think I have my gains way too high. Gets blarry. Probably need to play around with it more (which I have no idea where to begin with in terms of tuning). Couldn't find x-over settings in my deck.

Yeah lol, that is over my head when I got into the settings. Amp sounds better than the soundstream, especially with "s" sound. Doesn't sound scratchy. Getting car noise now with this amp. Say my budget is 500, what amp would you recommend?
