Soundstream Rubicon 800.5 vs Arc Audio XDI805?

Yeah lol, that is over my head when I got into the settings. Amp sounds better than the soundstream, especially with "s" sound. Doesn't sound scratchy. Getting car noise now with this amp. Say my budget is 500, what amp would you recommend?

Back up, dude. You don't want to spend $500 for an amp just to witness the same problem. You really need to figure out this crossover business. If it's over your head, maybe you can just pull it up on the HU and take a picture, then post on here? I mean, just read off what it says.

Just to give you a perspective on stuff - you got a sweet set of speakers. To utilize their full potential will require a little bit of work, so make sure you set your mind in that manner. If you don't understand something, read up on it.

Here is what I got from the deck. All EQ settings are set at 0db.

Bass: 200hz

Bass Q Factor: 1.0

Middle Center: 2.5khz

Middle Q Factor: 1.25

Treble Center: 12.5khz

HPF: Through

LPF: 85hz

Sub Phase: Normal

Supreme: ON

You may want to read up on what this Q factor is as well as "middle center," "treble center," and "supreme." Different head units have different settings trying to be cool to make stuff sound "better." A lot of times it doesn't.
