Soundstream 2200 watt D-Tower Amp

Just got my new amplifier and I have to say I'm pretty happy with it. First thing I noted when I got the box was "Wow, this thing is pretty small, but **** is it heavy lol."

Seems to be built pretty solid, and it looks pretty nice too. (Pretty isn't necessarily loud but it can't hurt to be aesthetically pleasing as well //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif)

I don't think I've seen any reviews on this amp yet so this should be interesting. If anyone has any equipment that can measure real-time RMS wattage in NW Indiana, I'd be interested in bench testing this thing. Yeah... I'm pretty excited. This is my first "real" amp. My last sub-stage amp made a measly 380W rms(probably overrated too lol) 2200W rms is quite a step up so I can't wait to pound the living shit out of that 12" Konaki I bought a month or so ago //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

For $250... that's a steal. I can't remember what the retail price is on these are exactly, but I remember them being at least double that lol.

I thought they broke apart? I know most people say the OLD old soundstream stuff was the best (which I would have to agree) but the new stuff is by no means crappy. Stuff is still pretty nice IMO and is on no level comparable to Power Acoustik lol. I guess kinda same analogy as some of the stuff that Maxxsonics owns... Different companies, different level of quality as well as price.

Yeah... the 2200 amp is only stable down to 1 ohm. The 3400 watt D-Tower is actually this exact same amp just beefed up to handle 1/2 ohm. If you look at the stats, it ALSO makes 2200 watts at 1 ohm. It's just that it is stable enough and makes 3400 at 1/2 ohm. I'm guessing this amp could go 1/2 ohm too with solid enough electrical.
